In February of 2015, the Fast Growth School Coalition hired an independent polling company to conduct a statewide survey of all likely voters here in Texas. The responses of Republicans, Conservatives, and Christian Conservative voters are included in this summary document.
Of particular interest are the following statements:
- 71% of Christian Conservative voters agreed that “our public school campuses have become too overcrowded.”
- 80% of Christian Conservative voters agreed that “we need to build new schools to keep up with the exploding growth caused by the significant economic development occurring in Texas.”
- 55% of Republicans and Christian Conservative voters would support a proposal that “allows fast growth districts to exceed” the outdated 50-cent debt test.
- 58% of Republican voters believe “state government should provide funding assistance for school facilities in fast growth areas.”
The members of the Fast Growth School Coalition encourage our state leaders to support conservative voters who are calling for additional facilities support and flexibility. You can find more about these issues here.
